TYPES OF PENSION
The pensionery benefits of Coast Guard enrolled personnel are governed by CCS (Pension) Rules, 1972 notified vide Government of India, Ministry of Defence letter PN/0101/CGHQ/771/CG/(N-II) dated 12 Aug 1980 and as amended from time to time, incorporating the benefits as per recommendation of the VIth Central Pay Commission. Pension is admissible to permanent employees who retire or are retired with a qualifying service of not less than ten years. Temporary employees who retire on superannuation or invalidation after rendering not less than ten years of service or retire voluntarily after 20 years continuous service are also eligible for pension. The difference class of Pensions are:-

Retiring Pension (Voluntary Retirement) Rule 48-A of CCS (Pension) Rules, 1972.
Invalid Pension Rule 38 of CCS (pension) Rules, 1972.
Family Pension Rule 54 of CC (Pension) Rules, 1972.
Disability Pension Under CCS (EOP) Rules, 1972.
Pro-rata Pension Under CCS (Pension) Rules,1972 Appendix 11.
Extra Ordinary Family Pension - under CCS (EOP) Rules.
